Summer - Autumn Raku 2023
Translated as “enjoy” and dating back to the 16th century Japanese Tea Ceremony, raku is an adventure.
Learn hand building and wheel throwing techniques and experience the excitement of the fast firing that produces metallic lusters and crackling distinctive to raku. Classes will meet in the newly renovated Carriage House behind the gallery at 244 East Rhine Street in Elkhart Lake.
Class participants can expect to complete 6-8 small to medium size works per 6 session class.
All clay, glaze, and firing costs are included in the $175.00 tuition. Payment is due 2 weeks before classes begin. Please note that if payment is not received we will award spaces to students on the waiting list.
